Hi Guys! It’s been a while since I last updated you about life at WHC, but it has been quiet busy!
It was definitely not all hard work and no play. Although there are many upcoming deadlines for assignments, I also had time to relax. For example, as I write this blog I’m in the train back from a weekend in Berlin! I had to work there with Laura at a fair, to attract future students. The fair was on Saturday but today, Sunday we still had the chance to see something of the beautiful city-center of Berlin. We went to the Berlin wall, visited some beautiful churches, and went to a real German Weihnachtsmarkt.
Furthermore we also had a nice excursion last week, for the Good Governance course. We went to the Humanity House and the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD), both located in The Hague. I already loved the city, but both visits were very interesting too! At the NIMD we learnt all about the organization and its work. It was interesting to learn that with the help of this organization, countries such as Kenya and Mali can establish a well-functioning democracy. In the Humanity House we experienced what it is like to be a refugee, and it was like walking through someone’s memories. There were all kinds of pictures, movies, and stories from people who fled to The Netherlands. Very impressive and I can definitely recommend you to go there!
So, that’s enough for now I would say! Have a nice week and we’ll keep you updated on all the happenings at the college.
