About Zwolle
Zwolle is a medium-sized city in the east of the Netherlands. About 30,000 students study in Zwolle, in one of the four Universities of Applied Sciences. Highlights of the city are the beautiful historic centre, the many parks which are good places to picnic during warm days and the nice cafés and restaurants. Zwolle also offers some very nice shopping opportunities, from big chains to cute boutiques.
Student life in Zwolle
Student life in Zwolle is focused in and around the city centre. Here you will find many nice cafés and restaurants. Student café ‘Het Vliegende Paard’ (The Flying Horse) is located in the centre as well. Here you can have a drink, or a complete meal, for a student price! Zwolle also offers many cultural activities, like music and cultural festivals, a theatre, a movie theatre and an annual Rhythm & Blues Night. In addition there are several student associations, ranging from rowing to international students.
Sports
WHC students can play sports at the Campus of Windesheim University of Applied Sciences, for a reduced price. You have a choice of fitness or group classes like aerobics and Zumba. A selection of team and individual sports are also offered, from tennis and karate to cricket and soccer.
