Below you will find more information on each of the different parts of the admissions process.
The admission process consists of four parts:
Part 1 You complete and submit the application form
Part 2 Windesheim Honours College assesses your admissibility to the College
Part 3 You meet with the Board of Admissions for an interview
Part 4 Windesheim Honours College decides on your admission
Part 1 Complete the application file
Step 1 Decide to apply
Before completing your application, make sure you are well informed about the Windesheim Honours College programmes and the entry requirements.
Step 2 Filling out the application form
After you have decided to apply, you can start your application by completing the application form. The application form is available online or through the link on the column on the right. Please make sure you read the instructions in the 'Guide to WHC admissions' beforehand to ensure you have all the required information at hand. After completing the form, please print and sign the form and send it the WHC Office of Admissions with all documents required.
Step 3 Write your letter of motivation
The Board of Admissions is interested in finding out why you would like to become part of the Windesheim Honours College community. Therefore, as a supplement to the application form, you will have to write a letter of motivation explaining your interest in the College and elaborate on how a Windesheim Honours College education fits in with your plans for the future. More information and instructions on the letter of motivation can be found in the 'Guide to WHC admissions'.
Step 4 Collect recommendations
Windesheim Honours College requires each applicant to hand in two recommendations. Recommendations provide the Board of Admissions with a perspective on you as a person both academically and professionally.
The academic recommendation should come from a teacher or professor who has taught you during the two years preceding your application. It is up to you who you ask. Obviously, the recommendation is of more use to the Board of Admissions if the teacher really knows you well. The academic recommendation should aim at evaluating your academic performance and abilities.
The professional recommendation should come from any person who can evaluate your professional behaviour and experience. For example, this can be a supervisor of a part-time job, or a coordinator from a NGO or volunteer work organization you have been working for, or even your coach or trainer from the sports association you are involved with. The professional recommendation should aim at evaluating your professional skills and experiences.
More information on academic and professional recommendations can be found in the 'Guide to WHC admissions'. The recommendation forms can be downloaded on the right or you can follow the links here: Academic recommendation and Professional recommendation.
Step 5 Collect all required documents
In addition to the application form, the recommendation letters and your letter of motivation, there are a few more things the Board of Admissions requires to process and assess your application. These documents are:
